Pre-School

Head Preschool Teacher: Abbey Lutskovsky, MAT

Ages Served: 3, 4, and 5. We offer one multi-age preschool class, and use our small group instruction to individualize instruction for the various ages.

Preschool Daily Routine

  • 7am – Center is open for student drop-off
  • 9:00am – Preschool begins with circle time, including “plan” time
  • 9:15am – Center play, “do” time
  • 10:00am – Clean-Up
  • 10:05am – Circle time, “review” time
  • 10:15am – Potty break, hand washing, snack
  • 10:30am – Gym break
  • 10:50am – Table time, small-group instruction
  • 11:05am – Music & Move Time
  • 11:30am – Handwashing, Lunch
  • 12pm – Outside Walk
  • 12:15pm – Story Time
  • 12:30pm – Rest Time
  • Quiet play until everyone is awake.
  • 2:45pm – Handwashing, Snack
  • 3pm – Gym Time
  • 3:30pm – Circle Time (Conclusion of Preschool Day)
  • 3:45pm – Free Play, in classroom
  • 4:30pm – Free Play, in gym
  • 5:15pm – Move into toddler room/infant room until parent pick-up
  • 6pm – Center Closes

What to Bring

Children should come to preschool in comfortable play clothes so they can fully engage in every experience without worrying about their clothes! Please send your children in sneakers or sandles, but no flip-flops.

Parents must keep a change of clothes in a plastic bag in their children’s cubbies at all times. Accidents do happen so we want to be sure we can face them with minimal embarrassment. If your child uses their spare clothes, please be sure to replace them on the next school day.

Parents must also pack a lunch each day. Foods should be ready to eat, without heating.  Refrigeration is available if needed.  To keep hot foods hot, we suggest the use of thermoses. The center will provide a morning and afternoon snack as well as milk at meal times.

If your child would like to celebrate a birthday at pre-school, that is great! The only condition is that any special treats must be store-bought in compliance with Oregon State Law.
